Another thing that was looked at was the possibility of controlling servo motors from within the TouchDesigner graphical programming environment. I had previously looked at this some time ago and come up with a slightly hacky and complicated way to do this. During our R&D I came up with a greatly simplified and more reliable protocol for talking to the Arduino, and added a graphical control interface for controlling a servo motor from your computer :
