Silicone Mould Making

In my BA i specialized in Plastics and Metals so it was great to be able to dedicate time to apply my professional knowledge more directly to the Toy Hacking process and CommuniToy outcomes.

I started by making a two part silicone mould of a dolls arm, as these are one of the items i work with in hacks i have made.

I embedded the arm into clay and created a box side around this using polypropylene sheet and tape.

Above shows two images of the first half of the mould when the embedded clay layer was removed.

Above is the final two part mould when opened and cleaned.
